План- конспект урока

по учебнику В.П. Кузовлева «ENGLISH» за 9 класс

Тема : Reading habits.My favourite book.

Цели:

Образовательные:

- продолжение знакомства учащихся с ИЯ как средством общения;

Развивающие:

- развитие умения преодолевать трудности, связанные с использованием лексических единиц;

- развитие иноязычных речевых механизмов зрительного восприятия, выбора и комбинирования;

- развитие логического мышления, памяти, догадки;

- развитие умения правильно подбирать материал для решения коммуникативной задачи;

Воспитательные:

- поддержание интереса к общению и формирование познавательной активности;

- воспитание потребности в практическом использовании языка;

- воспитание организованности, усидчивости, активности и внимания;

-воспитание культуры общения.

Практические задачи:

  1. автоматизировать пройденные лексические единицы;
  2. научить описывать любимую книгу;
  3. развивать и совершенствовать умения монологической речи;
  4. учить читать неподготовленный текст;
  5. научить употреблять формы, выражающие отношение к объекту.

Языковой материал:

а) новый: формы, выражающие отношение к объекту: to be fond of, to be excited about, to be captivated by, etc.;

б)для повторения: жанры литературы, слова, описывающие книги;

Учебные пособия: учебник, наглядность.

Ход урока

I Подготовка учащихся к иноязычной речевой деятельности.

  1. Ориентирующее замечание учителя

T.: Good afternoon, children! I’m very glad to see you. Sit down, please. Today we are going to continue to speak about books and reading in general. We have already spoken about different genres and have discussed why reading is so important. Today we shall describe our favourite books and share our impressions of them. Expressions that we shall learn today are sure to help us to tell about our favourite books.

T.: Imagine that you have a little brother, who can’t yet read but who is interested in books. Explain him what books can tell us about. Don’t forget using our topical vocabulary.

P1: Books can tell us about ancient times. They are books on history.

T.: It was nice. I see that you know much about books and can share your knowledge with others.

T.: Yesterday I read much about books and genres. I’m afraid everything got mixed in my head. Could you go over my knowledge?

- Is horror story a story in which frightening and often unnatural things happen?

- Is thriller a book that tells a very exciting story especially of crime and violence?

- Is fable a short that teaches a lesson, a story in which animals or objects speak?

T.: I’ m still not sure whether I can right identify a genre of a book. I’ll tell you what books I and my friends read, and you’ll say what genre they belong to.

- I like stories about imaginary people and events.

- My friend like books about ancient times.

  1. Упр.3 – трансформационное УРУ

T.: Now I’d like you to share my impressions of books. Ask your classmates whether they agree with me.

- Reading science fiction gives headache.

- Reading novels takes too much time.

  1. Упр.3 – репродуктивное УРУ

T.: I see that you know much about books. I’d like you to tell me about some genres. Give the definition and a brief explanation to it.

- Science fiction is….

- Modern novel is….

III Работа над текстом (p.21, ex.2) T-Cl, T-P1P2

T.: People all over the world read a lot of books. But they like different kinds of them.

Предтекстовый этап

T.: Before we read the text, try to guess what books these people prefer. Take into consideration their age, social status, etc. Use the expressions that are given above. Remember what you said and then we’ll see who was right.

T.: Fine. Now look at the blackboard. There are some words which you could find difficult.

(Winston Churchill, I wouldn’t mind, passion, supernatural, a clue, to conduct investigations, to be packed with, to be in the know of)

Упр 1. – Well, I also read the text. But unfortunately my memory fails me. Could you say whether I’m right.

  1. The mother adores reading modern poetry.
  2. The grandmother is really excited about reading books about people who live in the past.
  3. The son is captivated by love stories.

Упр 2. – While listening I made some notes. But I’ve already forgotten what phrase whom belongs to.

I wouldn’t mind reading about people living today; there is also a lot of information about TV and sports; I like to read about love and adventure; it’s really fun to follow the story line of the characters; I think it’s more interesting than reading dull stories about usual things and everyday life;

T.: Now you know what books members of this family like to read. And what about your relatives? And what about you? In your talk try to give answers on page 23.

IV Заключительный этап урока

1) Домашнее задание

T.: Thanks a lot. Now you know more about reading habits of different people and can describe your own ones. Expressions that we learnt will help you. Your homework for the next lesson is ex.4 on page 23. Write what book you would recommend your foreign friend, why you like it. Make use of our topical vocabulary.

2) Подведение итогов

T.: Well, I’ d like the way you spoke English today. Your marks are…. What did we learn today?

T.: Thank you for your work. The lesson is over. You may be free.
